From the boardroom to the roadside.
Linda Uba began her career in a youth employment programme, where she was promoted to executive assistant and worked closely with senior leadership. There she helped coordinate COVID-19 relief for local communities, from PPE distribution to feeding schemes, and learned how large operations really run.
She went on to manage stakeholder relations in the mining sector, leading health and safety audits, rewriting standard operating procedures to meet new legislation and working closely with government regulators. Most recently she worked on mining and resources projects as a liaison between site teams, leadership and outside stakeholders, turning on-site realities into clear decisions.
Along the way she spent extensive time at pothole installations, working alongside the crews and learning first-hand what makes a repair last. She saw that South Africa's roads need more than a good product: they need trained crews, safe sites and honest reporting. So, as a young entrepreneur, she started PatchPlus™ to deliver exactly that.
Today Linda leads PatchPlus™ as CEO, bringing the safety discipline of the mining sector and a talent for building trust with communities, clients and government to every repair.
